Female Condom Company Needs Your Input

The Chicago Female Condom Campaign is a coalition of HIV/AIDS, reproductive justice, women’s health, and gay men’s health organizations dedicated to increasing access, affordability, availability, awareness, and utilization of female condoms. Planned Parenthood of Illinois is one of the many organizations that have teamed up with the campaign to increase the awareness and use of female condoms (FC). FC2s (the second generation female condom) are provided at all Planned Parenthood Health Centers.

We love FC2s and want to spread awareness about this great and effective method. A barrier that we often face is the fact that many people don’t know that FC2s can be used for vaginal or anal sex, because the packaging FC2s come in has the female gender symbol on it. The company that makes female condoms is looking to change the packaging to make it more gender neutral – and they need YOUR help!

The company has created a survey that we hope you will take a minute to complete. If you’re buying FC2s you want to purchase a package your comfortable walking around a store with. Your input matters.

Why Should You Care?
-Just like male condoms, FC2s help reduce the risk of HIV, STIs, and unintended pregnancy.
-You can insert an FC2 hours before vaginal sex, so you don’t have to interrupt foreplay to be safe.
-FC2s help you take control of your own health.
-FC2s can be used for vaginal or anal sex; by both male and female receptive partners.

Feel Good Reasons to Use FC2s
-Once you pop, you won’t have to stop! FC2s don’t require an erect penis, so your partner doesn’t have to pull out right after ejaculation.
-Feel the heat! FC2s adjust to body temperature, so both you and your partner can feel the heat.
-Oh! Oh! The two rings of the FC2s double the pleasure for you and your partner.

Now that you know more about it, you should join the Chicago Female Condom Campaign’s Photo Campaign. Even if you have never tried a female condom you can still be a female condom advocate. So show your support!
