Tom Cullerton is 100% pro-choice and has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action. Tom Cullerton knows that women don't turn to politicians for advice about birth control, mammograms, or cancer screenings. He believes that government should not be involved in a woman's personal medical decisions.

It is very important that you vote for Tom Cullerton because his opponent, Carole Pankau, thinks that the government should intervene in women’s personal private decisions. Pankau has voted in favor of numerous dangerous restrictions on access to abortion that would threaten women’s health. Also, she voted against age-appropriate, medically accurate, comprehensive sex education.

Biography:
Tom is a husband, father, veteran, union member, community leader, volunteer coach, and hardworking public servant. A life-long resident of Illinois, Tom and his wife Stacey moved to Villa Park over a decade ago where they now raise three healthy and happy sons.

Since moving to DuPage County, Tom has been active in the community. He completed the Citizens Police Academy which prompted him to form and captain a neighborhood watch in his family's area. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, his local chapter of the American Legion, and coaches little league (his team won the Farm League World Series in 2011).

Tom has a long history of serving his community. In 1990, he enlisted in the United States Army Infantry Division and was honorably discharged in 1993. In 2005, Tom was compelled to run for Villa Park Trustee to ensure that the residents of Villa Park were receiving top-notch services and to initiate a more business friendly atmosphere. In 2009, the voters of Villa Park were so impressed with Tom’s work as a Trustee, they elected him to serve as Village President with a resounding majority of the vote.

Since Tom has been Village President, he has improved Villa Park’s financial stability through responsible budgeting, has been honored by the Sierra Club for initiatives the town has taken to become “green”, and has streamlined governmental services making them easier to access and less cumbersome for individuals and businesses to utilize.

When Tom is not helping his wife Stacey with their three boys, volunteering, working with his neighbors or serving Villa Park, he is putting in long hours as a Teamster Route Salesman. Tom will use his experience as a family man, union member, and public servant to bring jobs to the 23rd District, advocate for adequate education funding, and responsible budgeting that will put Illinois on the right path while still taking care of our most vulnerable citizens.
