Carl Wasco is 100% pro-choice and has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action. Carl Wasco knows that women don't turn to politicians for advice about birth control, mammograms, or cancer screenings. He believes that government should not be involved in a woman's personal medical decisions.

Wasco’s opponent, John Cabello, doesn’t trust women to make personal medical decisions without government interference. Cabello has been endorsed by anti-choice organizations that want to ban all abortions with no exceptions – not even for rape victims. Cabello also opposes age-appropriate, medically accurate, comprehensive sex education.

Biography:
Carl Wasco is a Navy veteran, past president of the Rockford Association of Realtors, and past commissioner for the Rockford Housing Authority. He is active in the Illinois Association of Realtors and serves on the Education, Government Policy, and Affairs Committee as well as the Equal Opportunity Committee. Carl has volunteered for many youth soccer programs over the years including being Facilities Director for the Rockford United Watermelon Tournament.

Wasco is currently serving the Rockford community as the 4th Ward Alderman. Carl’s strength in leadership brings coalitions together across party lines to get the job done for citizens and taxpayers. He listens very carefully to everyone, but isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions for those he represents. He is tireless in his pursuit to find acceptable solutions that work for all parties. Carl is known for not only serving the interests of the 4th ward, but reaching out and advocating for projects that benefit Rockford as a whole.

Carl and Marcia Wasco have been married for 29 years and are both lifelong Rockford residents. Carl and Marcia both graduated from Rockford Public Schools in 1969. They have two sons, Joe and Scott, daughter-in-law, Lisa and two granddaughters, Alexis, 7, and Lindsey, 4.
