Vasectomy Services Now Available

Starting October 8th, our Champaign Health Center will be offering affordable, no-scalpel vasectomy permanent sterilization services for men. This is PPIL's third health center to offer vasectomy services, following our Chicago Near North and Aurora locations.

No-scalpel vasectomy is a non-surgical procedure providing permanent birth control for men. Since it was introduced in the United States in the 1980’s, thousands of men who have completed their families or don’t want to have a biological child in the future – due to personal preference, a partner’s health risks or the fear of passing on a hereditary illness or disability – have chosen no-scalpel vasectomy as their form of birth control. No-scalpel vasectomies are over 99% effective.

The Champaign Health Center is located at 302 E. Stoughton and was renovated and expanded last year. The new health center features a welcoming environment and a larger space to provide essential health care services to the women, men, and teens of the Champaign County area.

PPIL has been providing reproductive healthcare services in the Champaign area since 1940. Each year PPIL delivers essential healthcare services, sex education, and sexual health information to nearly 3,000 women, men and teens in Champaign County and more than 60,000 people across Illinois. Consultation services for no-scalpel vasectomies are available at all Planned Parenthood of Illinois locations.
