"I have fought for women's rights at podiums and in Springfield since first being elected," said Berrios. "I am honored to have the support of Planned Parenthood and Personal Pac because they have truly made a difference. I look forward to a continued partnership in the battle against those who would seek to challenge women's rights."

Rep. Berrios is a cosponsor of HB 3027, which would require existing sex education programs to teach medically accurate, developmentally and age-appropriate sexual health information. Rep. Berrios is 100% pro-choice and he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action.

Biography: Maria Antonia “Toni” Berrios is serving her fifth term in the Illinois General Assembly as the 39th District State Representative. Her Northwest Side Chicago district includes parts of the Avondale, Belmont Cragin, Dunning, Hermosa, Irving Park, Portage Park and Logan Square communities. Representative Berrios is the first Puerto Rican woman to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives.

As a State Representative, her top priorities are to improve education and the quality of family life in her district and throughout Illinois. She has focused on issues that increase the well-being of children, seniors and working families. The Representative strongly supports after school programs, affordable housing and initiatives that reduce crime, as well as provide better health care for everyone.

Berrios has always been an active member of her community, volunteering her time over the years with various organizations and events, including the Young Democrats of Cook County. Berrios expects to earn her Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration on International Business next year from Keiser University. Berrios is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a Board of Governor’s Degree.
