Thank You, Illinois!

Yesterday, the Senate voted to reject the proposal to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood's preventative health care services--a big victory for Planned Parenthood, our supporters, and our patients. Here in Illinois, we'd like to send a huge thank you to the representatives from both parties who stood up for us in the fight.

We are extremely grateful to Senators Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk for voting with Planned Parenthood. We'd also like to thank Representatives Bob Dold, Judy Biggert, Mike Quigley, Luis Gutierrez, Jesse Jackson, Bobby Rush, Jan Schakowsky, and Danny K. Davis. Thank you for standing up for Planned Parenthood and the millions of women and families we serve each year. Because of you, we can continue to provide affordable health care to all those who rely on us.

And of course, thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and supporters who wrote letters, called their reps, rallied, and spoke out for us. Your efforts truly made the difference and we couldn't have done it without you! If you haven't checked it out already, be sure to watch this video that Planned Parenthood put together to thank all those who stood with us.
