Truth Tour Kicks off in Geneva, Illinois!

With only two days of advanced notice, over 100 people came out on Monday morning to stand with Planned Parenthood at the kick-off rally of the Truth Tour in Geneva, IL. We feel so happy and inspired to have such amazing supporters!

Despite the freezing temperatures, our big pink bus was surrounded by our Truth Team--patients, staff, friends, and families. Wearing pink and holding up signs, our supporters showed Rep Hultgren, who voted with the Pence Amendment, just how vital Planned Parenthood is for health care in this country. Patients and employees spoke about how the passing of such an amendment, which would bar Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funds for any purpose, would adversely affect the women of Kane county and Illinois as a whole. We are clearly needed; Planned Parenthood provides services for over 60,000 women in Illinois each year.

Brigid Leahy, Planned Parenthood of Illinois spokeswoman said: "We will not allow outside activists to go unanswered when they enter our communities to spread false information about our health centers with the goal of shutting them down and denying women basic health care."

Visit istandwithplannedparenthood.blogspot.com to follow the progress of the Pink Bus on its tour around the country. We'll have videos and pictures of every rally along with information about how you can get more involved!

Thanks again to everyone who came out. We are SO grateful for your passion, courage, and support! And finally, check out this inspiring video from the tour. We are proud to be there for women every day!

Bravo! Very proud of Geneva for hosting such a smart event in a smart suburb.

Do not let a small minority spread vicious untruths. Do not let this vital service leave Kane County... do you HEAR that Republicans, Democrats, all.

Stop taking us back to the stone age.
