Podcast Ep. 2: How Effective Is the Current Sex Ed in Ilinois?

In advocating for comprehensive sexual education in Illinois public schools, it is important to understand the current nature of our schools' sex ed programs. The second episode in Planned Parenthood of Illinois' podcast series "Common Sense: The Case for Comprehensive Sexual Education in Illinois" explores this very subject.

We aimed to find out what curriculum schools were providing their students, and many of the answers we found were quite shocking. Adolescents need sufficient and accurate information to make healthy choices, yet there is a huge discrepancy in the sex education that Illiniois teens are receiving.  In this episode, Illinois teachers share their experiences teaching sex ed, and high school members of our Teen Awareness Group weigh in on the quality of the education they received. Tune in now to find out what they had to say!
