Election Results

The numbers are close in the Governor’s race. Pat Quinn is currently ahead, but there are still precincts left to be counted.  The Democrats maintained control in the Illinois House and in the Illinois Senate. The House Democrats lost a total of 6 seats (three of them pro-choice). The Senate Democrats lost 2 seats (1 pro-choice).

Around the nation this election was a referendum on the economy and government and the results are alarming when it comes to a woman’s right to chose. However, Planned Parenthood is here for women, men, and teens no matter what. Planned Parenthood’s doctors, nurses, and other staff across the country, stand ready to do what we have been doing for nearly 100 years — deliver high-quality care and sex education to millions of women from every community at our 825 health centers and online.
