Candidate Spotlight: Terry Link

PPIA endorses Terry Link for Lt. Governor of Illinois.

Link was elected to the 30th District of the Illinois State Senate in 1996. His district consists of most of Lake County.

Today, he is a senior Democratic leader in the Illinois State Senate, and chairs the Illinois Property Tax Reform and Relief Task Force. This committee investigates Illinois' property tax systems and works to develop ways of reducing reliance on these taxes, in order to lower them for citizens.

Several environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, commend Link for his work in environmental legislation. For example, Link sponsored Smoke Free Illinois, which banned smoking in offices and restaurants.

Stance on Choice: Link is a self-proclaimed pro-choice candidate.
