Show Your Support for Dr. Carhart in Nebraska!
Dr. LeRoy Carhart's Nebraska clinic is set to be the sight of a large protest by Operation Rescue, Nebraskans United for Life, and Rescue the Heartland on August 28th and 29th. Dr. Carhart has asked for support, therefore Nebraska NOW and Kansas NOW are working to organize a counter-presence of pro-choice individuals. They need your support!
As you know, Dr. George Tiller was murdered at his church in Kansas on May 31st of this year. Dr. Tiller was only one of three late-term abortion providers in the country. His absence has created a void in available reproductive health care services and put the health and safety of women at risk. The attention of anti-choice protesters has now turned to Dr. Carhart, as he has indicated that he wishes to fill the gap in services in Kansas.
Local Illinois NOW Chapters are organizing transportation from Chicago to Omaha Nebraska for Friday August 28th and Saturday August 29th.
If you would like to participate, please send an email with your name and which day(s) you are interested in attending by Friday, August 21st to Michelle at glitterspark37@yahoo.com.
Separate transportation is being arranged for Friday and Saturday, so those who cannot make both days can attend at least one of the two days.
