Tell Your State Representative to Put People Over Politics!

The Illinois General Assembly is back in Springfield this week. This is your opportunity to tell state leaders that we need to put people over politics. Tell them cuts in services for Illinois families are unacceptable.

Call your state representative TODAY! Tell them to STOP THE CUTS to family planning and teen pregnancy prevention!

If the current FY 2010 budget goes into effect on July 1, reproductive health care will be cut off for thousands of Illinoisans:

- State family planning funding will be cut by 75% resulting in over 6,000 women not receiving their annual medical exam, Pap smear or year supply of oral contraceptives.

- Teen Pregnancy Programs will be cut by 75%. Thousands of our youth will not get the services they need to prevent unintended pregnancies and stay on track for bright and successful futures.

Planned Parenthood is working with many other Human Services providers to stop the cuts. The Illinois Chapter of AARP has set up a toll-free Illinois State Budget Hotline so that you can call your state representative: Call 1-888-616-3322

Tell your state representative: "Stop the cuts to family planning and teen pregnancy prevention! It's time to find new revenue and fix the budget crisis!"
