One Year Anniversary for Planned Parenthood Aurora Health Center!

Today we acknowledge the one year anniversary of the Planned Parenthood health center in Aurora. Despite the anti-choice protests and media maelstrom, Planned Parenthood staff, volunteers and community supporters faced every challenge with unwavering determination. Ultimately, their efforts were rewarded and the doors to a full-service health center were opened to one of the fastest growing communities in Illinois.

The true heroes are our Planned Parenthood volunteers and activists! Without them, we could not have made such as difference. Our volunteers and activists generously took time out of their own schedules to pick up yard signs, distribute fliers to friends, family and neighbors, and show up in bright pink and white Planned Parenthood t-shirts at city council hearings and rallies.

THANKS TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS!

Looking back after a year, there is much to say about those early days before the opening (In fact, this very blog was created to get all the current news and up-to-the-minute details about Aurora out to all of you as quickly as possible!). However, I choose to honor the one year anniversary not with paragraph upon paragraph of sentiments, but with a look back in photos.

After all, they say a picture says a thousand words...
